Can a Cold Water Faucet Be Used as a Hot Water Faucet?

Now there are many faucets with cold water and hot water. If the cold faucet is only connected to cold water, it is not very convenient. Some people will use the cold water faucet as a hot water faucet. Is this feasible?

The answer to this question is of course no, because the sealing materials used for these two faucets are different. The cold water faucet uses a rubber ring, and the hot water faucet is ceramic. The rubber ring is not as high-temperature resistant as the ceramic material. It is easy to age after a long time, so the cold water faucet cannot be used as a hot water faucet.

From this we have encountered a new problem. How should we maintain the faucet at home? First of all, we must clarify the situation of the faucet problem. The following problems are all common faucet use problems.

In some families, the kitchen hot and cold water faucets are closely connected to the wash basin. The hose under this type of faucet is deep inside the pipe and requires effort when disassembling. Therefore, when installing, you can screw the valve core seat into the faucet body, use a longer screwdriver to loosen the screw counterclockwise from the bottom, and then push the valve core seat and high-pressure hose from the bottom to the top, paying attention to the top to avoid damaging the valve core seat seal.

If some water supply hoses have been used for a long time and the water supply hoses cannot be temporarily loosened due to brittleness or corrosion of fasteners, you can drop two or three drops of oil on the rusted area and then remove the basin faucet.

If the water at the outlet cannot be stopped completely after the hot and cold faucets are turned off in the kitchen, we will suspect that it is caused by the problem of the valve core of the water supply valve, and there may be garbage blocking the sealing ring. The bottom of the valve core, the sealing ring is damaged or the pipe is damaged, and the impurities in the valve core will cause this situation.

If the water level of the faucet is low, it may be a leak because the water stop disc of the single spray gun faucet is stuck with sand and gravel. Such a shape can still be disassembled by finding a professional repairman.

When we clean a faucet by ourselves daily, if the rubber pad is damaged, it needs to be replaced. Hot water faucets tend to shorten their life due to thermal expansion and contraction, so it is generally recommended to replace the hot side and cold side with canon rubber pads at the same time.
